Oceamides is a natural marine ceramide active derived from the microalgae Nannochloropsis gaditana, designed to help protect, repair and strengthen the skin barrier.
Inspired by the lipid composition of human skin, Oceamides naturally contains ceramides NP, NS and NG alongside other important skin lipids including phospholipids, fatty acids and cholesterol-related components. Together, these help support skin barrier integrity, protection and regeneration.
At just 0.5%, Oceamides has been shown to improve skin barrier function, reduce transepidermal water loss (TEWL), increase hydration and support skin firmness. Clinical testing also demonstrated anti-ageing benefits including improvements in skin firmness, fatigue and the appearance of wrinkles.
Its marine and biotech positioning makes it a great option for modern barrier-focused skincare, moisturisers, serums, facial mists and anti-ageing formulations.
