Icy Dew(PD) is a natural cooling and soothing botanical complex developed to help care for skin affected by heat and humid environments. It combines extracts of yuzu peel, catnip, mung bean seed, Japanese white birch bark and eucalyptus leaf, obtained using Pressurised Hot Water Extraction (PHWE).
The complex works by activating TRPM8, the skin’s cold-sensing receptor, to provide a rapid cooling effect and reduce the sensation of heat. In an immediate-use study, a cream containing 2% Icy Dew(PD) lowered skin temperature by up to 2.3°C compared with placebo. In vitro testing also demonstrated an 80% increase in TRPM8 protein expression at 2%.
Alongside its cooling properties, Icy Dew(PD) helps soothe heat-stressed skin by targeting inflammatory responses. At a 2% concentration, it reduced COX2 expression by 72% and PGE2 production by 74% in UVB-stressed cells.
