Bromelain was introduced as a therapeutic compound when it was found in high concentrations in pineapple stems. The pineapple plant has been used medicinally in many native cultures due to its sulfhydrylproteolytic enzymes.
Efficacy testing on Bromelain has shown it can promote skin metabolism and have anti-aging benefits!
Bromelain has also been shown to help form the amino acid membrane on the skin surface which allows the skin to stay moist & hydrated.
Another amazing benefit is that Bromelain has been shown to decompose necrotic tissue, this means it can help to treat scarring on the skin!
