Tara is a legume/pod native to the Andes. Peruvian Tara has been used since the Incas ruled the territory today known as Peru. They used it as a medicine for irritated skin, natural black ink for their clothes, leather tannin and even as money savings because of its diverse uses and non-perishable characteristics.
The Peruvian Tara Seed is a natural ingredient (Hydrocolloid) obtained by a 100% mechanical process with the Tara seed endosperm. The Tara Spinosa tree grows in the Peruvian Andes. It’s a Bio-nutrient which improves skin condition and helps control moisture levels. It consists of a diverse group of polysaccharides which are isolated from the Tara Seed endosperm. It’s also known as a Galactomannan.

Tara Seed Gum acts as a powerful and versatile polymer and thickener and stabilizer at low concentrations. It is also a texturizing agent and elegance booster. On the other hand, it is non-sticky/stringy, has a smooth feel, improves and smoothens cream gels. It has a wide range of pH resistance, and it is also resistant to electrolytes – synergetic combination with synthetic polymers.
